Student Executive Board

The Grand Challenges Student Executive Board is comprised of upperclassmen students with the goal of fostering the growth and development of the Grand Challenges Living Learning Community.  The Grand Challenges community votes on committee chair and secretary positions during the Spring Semester and officers will serve for a full academic year, August - May. There are five committees; a chairperson and secretary lead each. The Grand Challenges Student Executive Board Chairperson will oversee the board and act as liaison to Grand Challenges staff. The five committees include, the Alumni Committee, the Media Committee, the Mentoring Committee, the Recruitment Committee and the Social Committee. The First Year Board Chairperson will also sit on the Student Executive Board.



The Chairperson oversees the Student Executive Board and is responsible for leading meetings, holding the other chairs accountable, providing committee updates and reports to Grand Challenges staff, and working with the Assistant Director of Grand Challenges to continuously improve the Grand Challenges community. The Chairperson speaks at community events and to the faculty/staff on behalf of the community. The Chairperson and the Assistant Director of Grand Challenges are also jointly responsible in determining if another chair needs to be removed and replaced.
